COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS

On 12th April 2024, 50 women peacebuilders from different counties attended a Women Regional Network of Peace Builders Kenya (WRN-K) convening whose purpose was to create awareness of the work they are doing through their programs, create a safe space for women to engage and get a sense of belonging even as they build their portfolio as peacebuilders and make a contribution to social impact work.

As civil society leaders, we have access to lived experiences of women in this most conflict-ridden region of the world. We have access to women in remote and insecure regions of Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, which will enable us to interact with grassroots women and share in their fears, experiences, perspectives and aspirations. With the double advantage of being grassroots civil society leaders as well as having a direct access to policymakers, we are uniquely positioned to act as intermediaries who will converge the hopes and aspirations of women across the social divide as agents of lasting peace and development. WRN EA will hold Community Conversations, which will evolve organically in each of the network countries, adapting to different local realities, and reflecting the rich diversity of our cultures, experiences and solutions.
